Network Systems Administrator
About the role
GDIT is seeking a Network Systems Administrator for the Digital Range Training System (DRTS) 3.3 in support of the Warfighter Training Readiness Solution (W-TRS) Contract. DRTS enables range modernization for tactical vehicle training, providing infrastructure and instrumentation for Abrams, Bradley, Stryker, and Aviation platform live-fire gunnery training and qualifications, as well as Combined Arms Live Fire Exercises (CALFEX).
The Network Systems Administrator will report to the Range Manager and is responsible for all employees, tools, inventories, maintenance, and the overall product delivered to the government. Responsibilities
- Manage all servers, workstations, and IT-related assets to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all DRTS IT operational support.
- Set up accounts and workstations; monitor system performance.
- Maintain systems according to requirements and troubleshoot issues and outages.
- Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
- Maintain technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
- Conduct inspections and inventories of all assigned IT equipment before and after each live-fire training event for accountability and serviceability.
- Report and coordinate daily with the Range Manager on range maintenance, scheduled live-fire training events, and VIP visits.
- Report acquisition of supplies, equipment, and parts weekly to the Range Manager.
- Ensure training and inventories are properly conducted and records are complete and maintained.
- Maintain, repair, and conduct Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on IT equipment.
- Support the GDIT/W-TRS cross-training plan to assist with other W-TRS Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) on installation.
- Interface with customers and site Government personnel, report TADSS status, maintenance issues, and assist with training schedules.
- Attend daily range safety briefings.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree or 4 years of equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of related experience managing US Army DRTS IT equipment/ranges.
- Military and leadership experience preferred.
- Technical expertise in range systems, equipment, and range maintenance.
- Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security practices.
- Experience with US Army doctrine live-fire gunnery training, qualifications, combined arms live-fire exercises, and After-Action Review (AAR) capabilities.
- Ability to learn the W-TRS Management Information System (MIS) for controls/recording all work orders and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) property control.
- Certifications: IAW DoD Pub 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program for Information Assurance Technical Level II. Required within 6 months of hire: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, or Cisco CCNA Security.
- US citizenship is not required.

Additional Details
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid state driver’s license and post driving privileges.
- Travel up to 25% of the time.
- Work location: On customer site in USA NM Picacho.
Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $57,824 - $73,600. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements.
Schedule
- Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
