About the role
As a Network Specialist, you will analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate computer and networking (Process Control Network) problems. This role is responsible for maintaining VRF PCN and DMZ networks and ensuring the network remains secure through both hardware/software configuration and end-user training. You will help advance the future of energy through innovation, ingenuity, and unmatched execution.
Responsibilities
- Collect, monitor, and optimize server performance and capacity to keep up with demand in online traffic.
- Monitor security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network, hardware, and software issues and perform routine maintenance on these devices.
- Deploy and maintain OT (Operations Technology) network infrastructure through Windows patching, antivirus updates, firmware updates, and application updates.
- Perform network component upgrades to maintain network equipment stability and deploy updated firmware to various routers and switches.
- Install network computers, servers, network, and communications equipment.
- Continually improve and develop security protocols.
- Periodically report System and Cyber security KPIs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Network Specialist required. An Associate's degree (or higher) in an IT-related field may substitute for the two years of experience.
- Minimum of five years of experience working with computer hardware and software required.
- Minimum of five years of experience with common troubleshooting tools like Command Prompt, PowerShell, Putty, Wireshark, etc. required.
- Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
Qualifications
- CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco Network Professional certification(s) preferred.
