About the Role
The Network Specialist will assist in executing high-level projects to architect, design, and implement complex network infrastructures for clients across multiple industries and locations. This role involves close collaboration with our Escalations team to resolve advanced networking issues. The ideal candidate will have experience taking projects from inception to production and end-user attestation, with the ability to troubleshoot network outages efficiently in unfamiliar environments. Work will be a combination of in-office, remote, and field assignments, with required travel.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement complex network infrastructures for clients.
- Resolve advanced networking issues in collaboration with the Escalations team.
- Manage projects from inception through to production and end-user attestation.
- Troubleshoot network outages quickly and efficiently in unfamiliar environments.
- Deliver projects on time while adapting to changing client demands.
- Set up new on-premises or virtual networks from start to finish.
- Implement, troubleshoot, and understand L2 technologies such as 802.1d (STP and its variants), 802.1x, and 802.1ad.
- Work with VPNs and tunneling technologies, including SSL/TLS-based VPNs, IPSEC, routing/policy-based VPNs, and GRE tunnels.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of real-world IT experience with an intermediate understanding of routing, switching, wireless, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving.
- Strong problem-solving skills with minimal client impact during troubleshooting.

- Strong organizational, operational, and interpersonal skills.
- Assertive, customer-oriented, and task-driven attitude.
- Project management skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and project timelines.
- Strong understanding of the TCP/IP stack and L2/L3 forwarding.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server DHCP, DNS, and Radius (Network Policy Server or NPS) services.
- Basic understanding of advanced networking, including on-premises enterprise-grade infrastructure and cloud-based network appliances.
Skills
- Experience with vendors such as Cisco, Palo Alto, SonicWall, Meraki, Fortinet, Aruba, and Ruckus, including CLI proficiency, is a strong plus.
- Experience with wireless technologies and vendor management is a plus.
- Experience with Linux operating systems is a plus.
- In-depth, advanced understanding of the AWS/Azure ecosystem is a strong plus.
Qualifications
- Prefer a minimum of 1-3 years of real-world IT experience (no college education required).
- AWS Solutions Architect Certification or similar is a plus.
- Cisco CCNA or similar is a plus.
- Candidates with experience in Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, SonicWall, Fortinet, and/or Ruckus are encouraged to apply.
Work Environment
- Primarily performed in standard office environments; client environments may vary.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels from machinery.
- Operation of personal computer equipment for 8 or more hours daily.
- Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Duties may involve stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, and moving equipment for network device installations and cabling checks.
- Travel to various worksites is required.
- Position requires on-site presence 5 days a week with periodic travel and recurring visits to client offices.
