Network Security Engineer (Onsite Position)

About the role

The Network Security Engineer I plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security solutions, utilizing industry-leading technologies and technology vendors.

Responsibilities

• Carry out and analyze vulnerability scans (hosts and network).
• Conduct network security threat/impact assessments.
• Oversee host-based security across the Health System to include: antivirus, HIPS, data loss prevention, and rogue system detection.
• Respond to malware reports and assist in implementing protective/anti-malware measures.
• Enforce computer and network security processes.
• Confer with management, technical staff, and end-users to define requirements for new systems and security infrastructure development.
• Ensure maximum uptime for Firewalls, Endpoint protection and VPNs.
• Design highly secure infrastructure to ensure maximum uptimes and performance.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required); Bachelors Degree, Computer Science/Information Systems or related field (Preferred).
• Experience: 3-4 years working knowledge of technical security solutions (Firewalls, NIDS, HIDS, SIEM, Endpoint Protection, Email Security, MFA, etc.) (Required); 3-4 years enforcing security policies, procedures and plans to safeguard data and systems from cyber attacks (Required); 1 year Azure and/or AWS cloud experience (Preferred); 2 years broad technical security knowledge of networking, and Windows and Linux operating systems (Preferred).

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of Internet security best practices.
• GIAC Information Security Fundamentals (GISF) certification (Preferred).
• Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) (Preferred).

Licenses and Certifications

• CompTIA Security+ - CompTIA (Required).
• Network (Plus) - CompTIA (Required).
• CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) - CompTIA (Required).
• Micrsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals - Microsoft (Preferred).
