Network Security Engineer 2
About the role
We are seeking a Network Security Engineer to join a team responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network security solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work across a variety of security technologies and collaborate with multiple IT teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions that support business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support network security solutions across enterprise environments.
- Configure, deploy, and administer Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls.
- Manage and maintain firewall policies, security controls, and related security technologies.
- Perform end-to-end security analysis and assessments on infrastructure and technology solutions.
- Ensure security architecture, configuration standards, and best practices are followed during project delivery.
- Support cloud security operations across AWS and Azure environments, including:
- Identity and access management
- Secure configuration management
- Network security
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Data protection
- Mining and logging
- Conduct risk assessments and security reviews to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation plans.
- Evaluate existing technologies, processes, and controls to identify opportunities for security improvements.
- Participate in testing, research, and investigation activities to improve operational effectiveness and security posture.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and security standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver secure, high-quality solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and security-related issues.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
- Must reside within the United States.
- Ability to work during U.S. Central Time business hours.
- 3+ years of experience in network engineering, network security, cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience supporting network and cloud security environments (AWS and/or Azure).
- Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and administering Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standards, and operational procedures.
- Strong understanding of network security concepts, technologies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Commitment to incorporating security principles into all aspects of technology design and operations.
- Experience administering security technologies such as:
- Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions
- Threat detection and monitoring platforms
- Knowledge of scripting, automation, and security content development.
- Experience building dashboards and security reporting solutions.
- Experience performing security assessments, identifying control gaps, and implementing remediation recommendations.
- Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with firewall auditing, compliance, and policy monitoring tools such as FireMon.
- Experience with Cisco Firepower technologies.

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
