About the role
The Network Security Analyst position at Lennox acts as a first-level escalation point for concerns involving firewall access requests, network troubleshooting, and VPN issues. This role is a full-time employment opportunity, with some weekend and/or after-hours work required to assist high severity security issues.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement approved firewall change requests in accordance with established guidelines.
- Perform operational checks of the firewalls to ensure optimal operation.
- Conduct periodic review of firewall policies to identify and remove any unused, duplicate, or expired objects and/or rules through change management.
- Absorb IT teams in troubleshooting network connectivity issues involving systems, applications, and services.
- Attend meetings related to KT& troubleshooting issues, roadmap & project discussions and change control meetings.
- Initiate the RMA of faulty firewall equipment.
- Work closely with the security engineering team to implement security enhancements and/or mitigate identified security gaps.
- Absorb firewall updates, and operating system upgrades.
- Absorb troubleshooting client VPN connectivity issues.
- Prepare escalations for the engineering team when determined a higher-level issue exists or break fix is required.
Qualifications
- 5 Years of relevant experience with 2-3 years of experience managing and configuring Palo Alto NextGen Firewalls.
- 3 years of experience working with Windows operating systems.
- One or more of the following certifications is preferred: (ISC)2 SSCP, CompTIA Security+, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, SANS GSEC, or Cisco CCNP Security.
- 1-2 years of experience using ssh connectivity tools such as Putty.
- Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required.
- Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to be flexible and work after business hours to support IT changes or troubleshoot issues.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and platforms in the IT Security space.
