Network Planning Sales Engineer Intern (Fall 2026)

About the role

Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits, providing dedicated, secure networks to sophisticated customers. The intern will work on optimizing high throughput satellite networks, including digital payload configuration, orbital slot selection, antenna system optimization, user coverage area definition, gateway location selection, user terminal selection, and networking/modem equipment selection and configuration.

Responsibilities

• Optimize systems by juggling many variables, considering all options, and running detailed trade studies
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
• Write scripts in Python to automate tasks and streamline processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address customer needs
• Present findings and solutions to potential partners, answering technical questions effectively
• Travel occasionally (less than 10%) to support client engagements

Requirements

• Strong ability to optimize systems by juggling many variables, considering all options, and running detailed trade studies
• Process-oriented mindset, constantly seeking more efficient ways of doing things
• Experience with scripting languages, particularly Python
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment

Pay

Base Hourly Pay: $29 - $29 USD
