About the role
Astranis is seeking a Network Planning Sales Engineer Associate to support pre-sales and post-sales network architecture and planning. This role is ideal for recent graduates with a strong interest in satellite communications and a passion for optimizing complex systems.
Responsibilities
- Optimize high throughput satellite networks by understanding and trading dozens of parameters, including digital payload configuration, orbital slot selection and frequency planning, antenna system optimization, user coverage area definition, gateway location(s) selection, user terminal selection, networking/modem equipment selection and configuration.
- Provide a balance of technical and business/customer facing responsibilities, including 1:1 mentorship from a senior, seasoned sales engineer.
- Engage with potential partners to craft high-quality presentations and answer challenging technical questions.
- Travel may be required for client meetings and training sessions.
Requirements
- Strong ability to optimize systems by juggling many variables, considering all options, and running a detailed trade study.
- Process-oriented mindset - constantly seeking more efficient ways of doing things and anticipating features needed from both internal and external tools.
- Scripting language experience, preferably Python.
- Enjoy a fast-paced environment, with just the right amount of chaos.

- Willingness to travel a bit.
Pay
The base salary for this position is $1,925 per week.
Schedule
This role is a twelve-week salaried position designed for new grads who have graduated from a four-year university.
