Our team is growing to support the US Army Comprehensive Modernization (COMPMOD) program, delivering end-to-end EFIS&T services—including survey, design, installation, security, and testing. This work spans NIPR and SIPR networks, Wi-Fi, VoIP, ISP/OSP infrastructure, and voice modernization across all CONUS Army installations.
Responsibilities
- Install, route, and secure fiber optic cabling, racks, ironwork (ladder rack, subfloor infrastructure), patch panels, and cable management hardware (i.e., Panduit raceway, Fiber Management Systems (FMS)) in accordance with TIA/EIA and DoW standards.
- Perform fusion splicing, connector termination, and cable preparation for singlemode, multimode fiber systems, and copper cabling.
- Handle DC power cable installation, including determining path and wax cord lacing, HTAP, and equipment.
- Conduct, document, and analyze results from OTDR, power meter, and continuity tests to diagnose and repair fiber issues.
- Adhere to security level access, material handling, and protocols.
- Interpret SOWs, site drawings, and infrastructure diagrams to maintain accurate records of network routes.
- Install network devices (e.g., IP routers, optical/IP switches) per DoW and industry implementation standards.
Requirements
- One to three years of experience in the construction, maintenance, or repair of networking or electronics equipment, or an equivalent combination of education from a related technical discipline.
- Proficiency in Telcordia standards, fiber optic splicing, and testing equipment.
- Basic knowledge of communications installations.
- Experience with network devices (e.g., IP routers, optical/IP switches).
- Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills; experience in customer service environments.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides for reporting.
- Active Secret Clearance or higher.
- Ability to travel 90% of the time for deployments, including CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations.
- Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with Outside Plant (OSP) fiber and fiber cabinets.
- Experience with specific equipment manufacturers (e.g., Corning).
- Familiarity with network security products.
- Familiarity with Army installations.
