AI is only as good as the experts who train it. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build next-generation security intelligence — and we need seasoned infrastructure security practitioners to make it happen. If you've spent years in the trenches defending real enterprise environments, this is your opportunity to put that hard-won knowledge to work shaping how AI understands, reasons about, and responds to cybersecurity threats.

Organization: Alignerr
Type: Hourly Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

Responsibilities

  • Analyze realistic network, endpoint, and email security scenarios drawn from modern enterprise environments
  • Review firewall, EDR, SIEM, and infrastructure security cases — identifying what went wrong, why, and what the business impact was
  • Classify incidents, misconfigurations, and control failures based on real operational data
  • Create, label, and validate security training and evaluation datasets used to improve AI-driven security systems
  • Translate complex technical findings into clear, structured explanations that AI models can learn from

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in network, infrastructure, or endpoint security roles
  • Familiar with the full enterprise security stack: firewalls, EDR, email security, IAM, SIEMs, and beyond
  • Deep understanding of how real organizations deploy, operate, and sometimes fail with security controls
  • Able to clearly articulate security issues, root causes, and their real-world business impact
  • Detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable working asynchronously

Skills

  • Experience in threat hunting, incident response, or red/blue team operations
  • Exposure to cloud security environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, or CIS Controls
  • Prior work in AI, data labeling, or security research

Benefits

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside top security and AI research teams
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule, from anywhere
  • Freelance autonomy: no meetings, no politics, just impactful work
  • Contribute to AI that will help defend organizations at scale
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
