Network Infrastructure Engineer

Join our team and take responsibility for completing site surveys and creating structured designs for customer networks that support voice, data, security, audio, and visual systems. You’ll design engineered drawings, specifications, reports, and other technical documents while collaborating with IT, facilities, project teams, clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to analyze requirements and develop system designs, estimates, implementation plans, and management reports. Coordinate structured cabling design with other disciplines and implement final network solutions for on-prem and cloud environments. Manage the production of network devices and architecture design, and develop all supporting documentation required for global network implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys and create structured network designs for voice, data, security, audio, and visual systems.
  • Develop engineered drawings, specifications, reports, and technical documents.
  • Collaborate with IT, facilities, project teams, clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to analyze business and technical requirements.
  • Design system solutions, estimates, implementation plans, and management/customer reports.
  • Coordinate structured cabling design with other design disciplines.
  • Implement final network solutions for on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Manage production of network devices and architecture design, including all supporting documentation for global network implementation.
  • Develop and execute test and implementation plans based on requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience providing implementation and engineering support for DoD enterprise networks.
  • 3+ years of experience with commercial hardware, networks, and cloud environments.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting network discovery, including analyzing and documenting system requirements.
  • Experience with security, routing, and switching protocols, including BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, VPLS, STP, or L3VPNs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations up to 40% of the time.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • HS diploma or GED.
  • DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with networking technologies and core internet protocols, wireless, and distributed networks.
  • Experience with multiple vendors' networking solutions, including Cisco, HP, Aruba, Palo Alto, Arista, and Juniper.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and services, including AWS and Azure, and designing, configuring, provisioning, and deploying solutions at the network layer.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling and installation standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.

Schedule

This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite. If remote, occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility may be required. If hybrid, frequent work from a Booz Allen facility is expected, with possible visits to customer facilities. If onsite, work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
