Network Infrastructure Architect

About the role

IDR is seeking a Network Infrastructure Architect to join one of our top clients for a hybrid opportunity in Forsyth, Georgia. This role involves providing strategic leadership for infrastructure modernization projects and overseeing complex network environments, including wireless and cloud solutions. The successful candidate will serve as the principal technical authority for network architecture, ensuring vendor accountability and alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the enterprise network architecture strategy for all facilities statewide.
• Develop network roadmaps and ensure infrastructure initiatives align with long-term business objectives.
• Design and standardize network, wireless, and security architectures across existing and new facilities.
• Lead architectural planning for major infrastructure projects.
• Evaluate current network environments and recommend upgrades, enhancements, or replacement strategies.

Requirements

• 10+ years of enterprise network architecture experience
• Demonstrated experience designing and overseeing multi-site or distributed network environments
• Wireless network architecture expertise, including enterprise-scale deployments
• Network security experience — segmentation, access control, policy enforcement
• Hands-on experience with Meraki networking solutions
• Experience with cloud networking platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Vendor management experience — ability to evaluate, challenge, and hold vendors accountable
• Experience leading or overseeing large-scale infrastructure deployments
• Strong executive communication skills — ability to advise senior leadership on complex technical topics
