About the role

The Network Engineering Manager leads a team of network engineers within Dematic's Lifecycle Services and Solutions – Modernizations & Upgrades organization. Key responsibilities include managing workload, tracking progress, prioritizing tasks, coaching team members, and overseeing network designs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the workload of Controls Network Engineers supporting the LSS MU team.
  • Monitor team utilization and balance assignments to ensure efficiency and alignment with project demands.
  • Track backlog and delivery progress, providing regular updates on team performance.
  • Prioritize work in alignment with Engineering and Project Management leadership.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including time and travel approvals, as applicable.
  • Coach and mentor team members to maintain current knowledge of industry technologies.
  • Promote professional development through training sessions, workshops, and conferences.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and on-time delivery targets.
  • Proactively identify risks and implement corrective actions to address potential issues.
  • Provide oversight for the development of network specifications and configurations supporting SCADA, PLC, and industrial automation systems.
  • Guide OT network architecture and support project team’s designs.
  • Conduct technical reviews of network designs and drawings to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Oversee design and documentation of network segmentation strategies.
  • Support definition and implementation of cybersecurity design principles.
  • Cook and document network configurations, including: Physical interfaces and communication protocols, IP addressing and VLAN structure, Firewall rule definition and documentation.
  • Support design and implementation of Operational Technology (OT) networks.
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise for network devices and infrastructure.
  • Assist in developing network designs for new projects through analysis of RFQs and design specifications.
  • Recruit, onboard, and effectively integrate new team members.
  • Drive continuous talent development and performance management through the annual OCTR (Organization Capability and Talent Review) and goal-setting processes.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, skills gap assessment, and targeted training while empowering team members to succeed.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, open communication, and collaboration within the team.
  • Promote and uphold a Safety-First culture while ensuring compliance with all company policies and standards.
  • Maintain regular and effective communication through one-on-one meetings, real-time coaching, project team discussions, peer meetings, and employee feedback channels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead effectively across remote, office, and customer site environments.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% and work additional hours as needed to support project demands.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $121,600.00 - $182,400.00 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
