About the role

As a Network Engineer Senior, you will lead and design seamless networking solutions, deploy innovative technologies, and mentor other team members to ensure mission success for the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). This position requires on-site support at the customer location and may involve lifting IT hardware, reaching/bending/kneeling, and other moderately strenuous activities. Travel may be required to support mission goals (10-25%). US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, and support of an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Agency Internet Network (AIN), Intranet, and Internet, as well as other data communication systems or specific segments of a network system.
• Maintain network hardware and software for consistent and optimized performance.
• Monitor networks to ensure availability for all system users and perform necessary maintenance to maximize uptime.
• Coordinate and implement network security measures while leading and mentoring junior and mid-level network engineers.
• Oversee the network control center and provide support to ongoing network-related projects.
• Manage the full spectrum of complex network designs that encompass multiple technologies within a single network.
• Evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations to project managers regarding their integration.
• Plan network configurations for optimal performance and integration, considering system performance characteristics and network interface specifications.
• Ensure adequate planning for hardware and communications facilities to support analysis, installation, and support of voice, video, and data communication systems.
• Translate business requirements into telecommunications designs that include LAN, MAN, WAN, voice, and video solutions.
• Design and integrate new technologies into local and wide area networks, guide users in formulating requirements, and lead feasibility studies.
• Incorporate and transition new network designs, develop architecture and design documentation, and provide advanced troubleshooting of complex network issues.
• Interact with government stakeholders to address technical considerations and provide recommendations to resolve network-related problems.
• Oversee the technical integrity of deliverables associated with network engineering while communicating effectively with program personnel, government representatives, and senior executives.
• Review and approve network engineering documentation to ensure processes and specifications meet user and network needs.
• Coordinate network integration activities among multiple teams to ensure full coverage of all interfaces, capturing designs in a standard interface control format.
• Analyze user requirements, high-level system architectures, and network performance indicators to develop appropriate network specifications.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required; willingness to attain a CI Polygraph for specific positions as determined by the contract.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 12+ years of related experience.
• Proven ability to mitigate risks, control costs, and manage large-scale, integrated projects effectively.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification required prior to support on contract (e.g., Security+ or equivalent).
• Required Computing Environment Certification: CCNA at start, with CCNP to be obtained within 180 days of start date (preference for candidates with CCNP on Day 1).

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements.

Schedule

• Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
• Work location: USA NC Fort Bragg (onsite).
• Travel required: 10-25%.
