Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and support an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Agency Internet Network (AIN), Intranet and Internet and other data communications systems or a segment of a network system
- Maintain network hardware and software
- Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability
- Supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures
- Provide leadership/mentorship to junior & mid level network engineers
- Oversee network control center; provide support to projects that involve networks; perform a full range of complex network designs encompassing multiple technologies within a single network
- Evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations to project managers regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network
- Plan new configurations for integration into the network, using knowledge of the performance characteristics of the systems being added to the network and the specifications for network interfaces to insure effective integration and optimal network performance
- Ensure that adequate and appropriate planning is provided for hardware and communications facilities to develop and implement methodologies for analysis, installation and support of voice communications systems
- Translate business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders
- Analyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop network requirements specifications
- Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies
- Analyze network requirements and capacity and lead design and development activities
- Incorporate new network plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
- Design and perform integration of new technologies into local and wide area networks
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problems
- Manage the transition and migration of networks and development of network addressing schemes
- Interact with the Government regarding Network Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts
- Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 12 years of experience, or 10 years of experience with Master's Degree
- Required Skillset: Mitigate risks, controls costs and schedule variance, and effectively manages large scale, integrated projects
- Review and/or approve Network engineering documentation to ensure that processes and specifications meet Network needs and are accurate, comprehensive, and complete
- Establish and follow a formal procedure for coordinating Network integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces
- Capture all interface designs in a common interface control format, and store interface data in a commonly accessible repository
- Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI Required
- Required Certification(s): DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
- IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification
- Security+ or equivalent
- Required Computing Environment Certification: minimum of CCNA to start and CCNP within 180 days of your start date. Of course if you have CCNP is preferred to have individual that has this on day one

Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $96,569 - $130,651. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

- Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract
- Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity
