GDIT is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with a Top Secret/SCI clearance to support critical outcomes for complex government, defense, and intelligence projects, specifically for the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM).

About the role

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will make meaningful contributions to mission-critical projects, providing leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level network engineers. This role involves overseeing network control centers, supporting projects involving networks, and ensuring the technical integrity of network engineering deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and support local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), Agency Internet Network (AIN), intranet, and internet systems.
  • Maintain network hardware and software; monitor network availability and perform necessary maintenance.
  • Supervise other network support and client-server specialists; plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level network engineers.
  • Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop network requirements specifications.
  • Guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Analyze network requirements and capacity; lead design and development activities.
  • Provide technical leadership for integrating network requirements, design, and technology.
  • Incorporate new network plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
  • Develop network architecture and design documentation.
  • Guide network development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of network engineering management and integration/test plans.
  • Design and perform integration of new technologies into local and wide area networks.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex network issues.
  • Manage the transition and migration of networks; develop network addressing schemes.
  • Interact with government personnel regarding network engineering technical considerations, problems, issues, or conflicts.
  • Ensure the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with network engineering.
  • Communicate with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
  • Mitigate risks, control costs and schedule variance, and manage large-scale, integrated projects.
  • Review and/or approve network engineering documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with network needs.
  • Establish and follow formal procedures for coordinating network integration activities among multiple teams.
  • Capture all interface designs in a common interface control format and store interface data in a commonly accessible repository.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • 12 years of related experience, or 10 years with a Master’s Degree.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance; ability to obtain a CI Polygraph as required by the contract.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification (e.g., Security+ or equivalent) required prior to contract support.
  • Minimum CCNA certification required to start; CCNP certification required within 180 days of start date (CCNP preferred on day one).
  • Willingness to perform moderately strenuous activities such as lifting IT hardware, reaching/bending/kneeling to plug in cables.
  • Travel may be required (10-25%) to support the mission.

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $96,569 - $130,651. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
