This role supports the Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC), the Army's focal point for aviation and missile platform research, development, and engineering across the life cycle. AvMC's mission is to deliver collaborative and innovative aviation and missile capabilities for cost-effective research, development, and life cycle engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, implement, upgrade, and maintain classified and unclassified network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and virtual networking components
- Upgrade network configurations to support evolving modeling, simulation, and test requirements
- Configure and maintain VLANs, routing, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, NTP, and network segmentation
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and configuration issues
- Maintain network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and baselines
- Assist with IT modernization and technology refresh initiatives
- Perform configuration, preventative maintenance, fault isolation of local/remote LAN equipment, and telecommunications circuitry
- Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; recommend hardware and software for efficient solutions to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
- Plan implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the classified and unclassified networks
- Conduct testing of network systems and associated devices
- Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance network capabilities
- Conduct audits of equipment and production systems and create appropriate reports
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- Great communication and organizational skills
- Ten (10) years of prior experience in a similar role
- DoD 8570 Level II/III certification desired
- Active Security Clearance Required
