Network Engineer - Network Engineer IV

About the role

The Network Engineer will assist in deploying and automating a large and complex network, maintaining network quality and reliability, and developing innovative methods to scale the network.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and automate one of the world’s largest and most complex networks.
• Maintain network quality and reliability during rapid expansion.
• Develop innovative methods to automate the scaling of the network.
• Design simple, scalable solutions for network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot complex network problems to ensure service stability.
• Participate in critical network scaling and decommissioning activities to meet customer demand.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant networking certificates.
• Experience: A minimum of 7+ years of industry experience is required.
• Technical Skills: Excellent IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols; in-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF; in-depth knowledge of and experience with major router platforms, specifically with Cisco 37xx, 49xx, 65xx, 73xx, 76xx platforms; excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills; experience with protocols and technologies such as DWDM, T1/DS1, DS3, SONET, 802.2/3, 802.1d VLANs/STP, IPv4 & IPv6, TCP, HSRP/GLBP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, TACACS, IPSEC & VPNs, netflow, DNS, and HTTP.

Qualifications

Previous network experience within a large-scale environment is highly preferred. Relevant experience in cloud infrastructure is a plus.

Skills

Excellent communication skills are essential. Autonomous problem-solving abilities are required.
