About the role
Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. As a Network Engineer, you will help develop, modernize, and sustain secure and resilient network capabilities that support critical defense operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, modernize, and sustain secure and resilient network capabilities that support critical defense operations
- Contribute to engineering efforts including implementation planning, technical reviews, test activities, and upgrades supporting enterprise-wide modernization
- Apply knowledge in routing and switching, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding
- Contribute to engineering efforts including implementation planning, technical reviews, test activities, and upgrades supporting enterprise-wide modernization
- Identify improvements for network resiliency, capacity, or security
- Mentor junior engineers or support higher-level planning efforts
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with network configuration, troubleshooting, or engineering support
- Experience supporting engineering implementation planning, sustainment engineering, or technical reviews
- Knowledge of network design and architecture, OSI model concepts, transport layers, and system interoperability
- Knowledge of cryptographic equipment, network security technologies, and firewall implementations
- Ability to perform Tier III troubleshooting of complex issues
- Ability to interpret network diagrams, engineering documentation, and lab test outputs
Qualifications
- Secret clearance
- High school diploma or GED
- Top Secret clearance preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, IT, or Cyber field
- CCNA, CCNP, or Security+ Certification preferred
Skills
- Network configuration, troubleshooting, or engineering support
- Routing and switching technologies and Layer 2 and 3 network protocols
- Network design and architecture, OSI model concepts, transport layers, and system interoperability
- Cryptographic equipment, network security technologies, and firewall implementations

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD).
Schedule
Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.
