Network Engineer (Linux)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and data center network infrastructure.
• Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, proxy servers, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and WAN optimization devices.
• Configure and manage routing and switching technologies to maximize network performance and security.
• Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, inventories, and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry best practices.
• Prepare technical reports, project updates, and network status reports for stakeholders.
• Participate in on-call support and after-hours maintenance as required.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience: 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
• Required Experience: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, and enterprise routing and switching.
• Experience: Experience configuring and supporting Extreme network infrastructure.
• Experience: Experience with firewalls, VPN technologies, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and network security principles.
• Experience: Experience troubleshooting complex network issues using industry-standard tools.
• Knowledge: Strong Linux knowledge.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of network monitoring and performance management platforms.
