About the role
An experienced Network Engineer III is sought to design, plan, implement, and support highly available enterprise and telecommunications networks. This senior-level role requires technical expertise in Palo Alto Networks SD-WAN technologies, network architecture, routing, and security. The ideal candidate will architect solutions, lead implementation efforts, mentor other engineers, and drive strategic network initiatives while ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, and implement complex network solutions supporting enterprise and telecommunications services.
- Lead SD-WAN initiatives utilizing Palo Alto Networks technologies and drive WAN transformation projects.
- Develop scalable, secure, and highly available network architectures, including HA SD-WAN and network resiliency designs.
- Create and review engineering designs, specifications, and implementation plans.
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Work with engineering leadership to define future-state network architecture and evaluate emerging technologies.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex network issues, leading root cause analysis and resolution.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of six years of progressive network engineering experience, including designing and implementing enterprise networking solutions and leading complex technical projects.
Skills
- Recent, hands-on experience with Palo Alto SD-WAN, including PAN-OS deployments, Panorama administration, and HA architectures.
- Expertise with Hub-to-Branch and Branch-to-Branch connectivity models and traffic engineering.
- Strong knowledge of dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), network redundancy, and failover design.
- Proficiency in firewall policy management, IPSec VPN design, and network security best practices.
- Experience with network monitoring, performance analysis, and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the telecommunications industry.
- Palo Alto Networks certifications (PCNSE preferred).
- Other networking certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or JNCIP.
- Experience supporting large distributed networks.
- Experience with cloud networking and security technologies.
