About the role
Designs, analyzes, plans, and modifies internal company networks. Ensures optimum integration of software products, infrastructure, and data based on business needs, communications systems, and evolving technologies. Develops and evaluates network performance criteria and measurement methods.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical expertise in the management of company networks; tests and analyzes network facilities, including network control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters, servers, and cloud networking technologies.
- Installs, supports, and maintains LANs, WANs, SD-WAN, and cloud network environments; evaluates and recommends networking hardware, software, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Performs technical analyses of software, hardware, and transmission facilities using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient network operations.
- Monitors network performance, data traffic, and resource utilization to ensure high-quality transmission, availability, and reliability.
- Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves technical problems related to network failures, performance, integrity, security, and end-user connectivity.
- Provides technical data and voice support to users and performs troubleshooting to isolate and resolve network-related issues.
- Analyzes network requirements and recommends improvements to network architecture, standards, processes, and operational procedures.
- Contributes to the design, implementation, and integration of enterprise data, voice, wireless, and cloud network architectures.
- Evaluates hardware, software, and cloud service capabilities and provides recommendations based on business and technical requirements.
- Installs, configures, tests, secures, and troubleshoots network hardware, software, and supporting infrastructure.
- Establishes and maintains secure network environments by implementing industry best practices, security controls, and compliance requirements.
- Gathers and analyzes performance, capacity, availability, and utilization statistics to support capacity planning and continuous improvement.
- Designs, develops, and implements network automation solutions using scripting, APIs, orchestration platforms, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
- Identifies opportunities to automate repetitive operational tasks, incident response, configuration management, software deployment, and monitoring processes.
- Develops and maintains AI-enabled solutions to enhance network monitoring, event correlation, predictive analytics, anomaly detection, root cause analysis, and operational decision-making.
- Evaluates, pilots, and implements emerging AI, machine learning, and automation technologies to improve service delivery, operational resilience, and customer experience.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate AI and automation capabilities into network operations, service management, and business workflows.
- Creates and maintains automation scripts, AI models, workflows, technical documentation, and operational standards to support ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing.
- Ensures AI and automation solutions comply with cybersecurity, governance, regulatory, and data privacy requirements.
- Provides technical leadership and guidance on automation best practices, AI adoption, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts in area of discipline.
- Competent in all job functions with a general understanding of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
- Develops solutions for a variety of situations and works on projects requiring evaluation and analysis.
- Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion; may receive limited guidance for new assignments.
- Collaborates with management and team members within the department/function and other areas of the organization.
Qualifications
- Typically 3+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience in coding languages including Python, Bicep, and Terraform.
