Network Engineer II
Responsibilities
- Designing, building, and maintaining our global network infrastructure.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define data models and functional requirements.
- Configuring BGP and troubleshooting for complex peering relationships.
- Implementing new hardware platforms and network features within the automation framework.
- Acting as a subject matter expert and final point of escalation for production network issues.
- Creating and maintaining clear documentation & procedures.
Requirements
- 5 years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent experience.
- Demonstrate experience in IP network design and implementation of scalable BGP routing architecture.
- Understand Data Center architecture, including CLOS Fabric and overlay technologies such as VxLAN and EVPN.
- Have experience in managing and troubleshooting multi-vendor environments like Juniper, Cisco & routing platforms like BIRD, FRR and Cumulus.
- Demonstrate an understanding of end-to-end data flows and traffic patterns.
- Be a highly organized self-starter who is comfortable working with cross-functional teams.

Pay
For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $88,900 - $160,100/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary.
Schedule
Akamai offers a flexible schedule through our FlexBase program, allowing employees to work remotely, in an office, or a combination of both.
