Network Engineer--DHA
About the role
The Social Security Administration's technology team plays a vital role in supporting the agency's mission to serve millions of Americans. We are responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the agency's computer systems and enterprise information technology infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Performs the selection, configuration, generation, implementation, and support for all network software supporting the SSA Wide Area.
- Conducts analysis, simulations, benchmarks, and feasibility studies relative to the latest software developments in the field, revisions to existing software systems, and proposed CO and remote reconfigurations.
- Develops agency guidelines on the use of network features. Participates in the development of recommendations and performance specifications of major network system acquisitions; conducts studies relating to project network capabilities for new acquisitions.
- Collaborates with supervisors and technical experts within OSOHE and other segments of systems to negotiate and coordinate network related changes impacting other organizations.
Requirements
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. Your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and proficiency of any required competencies to perform the specific position for which you are applying.
