Network Engineer

Location: Salina, KS (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift (Flexible Start Time)
Employment Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

About the role

Our organization is seeking a Network Engineer to support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure in a primarily Cisco-based environment. This role is responsible for network administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, upgrades, and infrastructure projects that support critical business operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with IT teams on operational and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN network infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance and perform preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and performance issues.
• Configure, install, upgrade, and maintain network hardware and software.
• Participate in infrastructure projects, system implementations, and technology upgrades.
• Support network security initiatives and best practices.
• Maintain network documentation, configurations, and standards.
• Support remote access technologies and connectivity solutions.
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues and support deployments.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for critical support needs.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Network Engineering, Network Administration, or a related infrastructure role.
• Experience supporting Cisco networking environments.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Network routing and switching
  • LAN/WAN technologies
  • Network monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Network security best practices
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst switching environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Cisco certification (CCT, CCNA, or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Cisco Meraki solutions.
• Experience with infrastructure upgrade and implementation projects.
• Experience supporting enterprise network environments.
• Additional Cisco certifications are highly desirable.

Work Environment

• 40 hours per week
• Fully onsite position
• Flexible daily start times
• Participation in an on-call rotation (approximately one week every six weeks)

Pay

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
