Network Engineer

Overview We are seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to provide operational support and administration for a complex enterprise network environment. This role is focused on day-to-day network operations, troubleshooting, firewall administration, and infrastructure support to ensure network stability, security, and application availability across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Cisco networking technologies , Cisco Firepower firewalls , and load balancing solutions. This position requires both onsite work and the ability to travel as needed. Responsibilities Administer and support Cisco-based network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity across multiple locations and critical business systems.Manage and maintain Cisco Firepower firewall environments, including firewall rule changes, access requests, and security policy updates.Execute firewall policy modifications to support business applications and end users.Monitor, investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve network performance issues, outages, and connectivity problems.Maintain and support Cisco routing and switching infrastructure to ensure network availability and performance.Perform load balancer administration, configuration updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Provide break/fix support and operational maintenance across routing, switching, firewall, and load balancing technologies.Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to support network changes and resolve production issues.Support business continuity initiatives and disaster recovery environments.Participate in knowledge transfer and documentation efforts to ensure operational continuity. Required Qualifications Experience administering Cisco Firepower firewalls in an enterprise environment.Strong knowledge of Cisco routing and switching technologies.Experience troubleshooting complex network connectivity issues.Hands-on experience supporting production network environments and resolving critical incidents.Understanding of network security policies, firewall rule management, and access controls.Ability to work onsite and travel as required.Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with HAProxy or other software-based load balancing solutions.Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity environments.Experience supporting multi-site enterprise networks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Tallahassee, FL. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
