Network Engineer

TEKsystems is seeking a Network Engineer for a top client in the Charlotte, NC area. This role offers stability, growth opportunities, and exposure to updated technology.

Top Skills

• 3-5 years of configuring and troubleshooting experience with Juniper (Switches, Routers, and Firewalls)
• Ability to monitor networks and experience with Nokia Devices
• Ability to work with larger ISPs
• Strong understanding of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, and VLANs

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and implement network infrastructure projects supporting Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia equipment
• Troubleshoot and optimize network performance
• Handle P1-P2 tickets during the first year, addressing customer-facing outages and impairments
• Work on projects including code upgrades, Cost Optimized Latency Aware Placement (COLAP), and customer migrations
• Resolve single customer issues
• Serve as the first line of defense in troubleshooting for the Network team, with escalation to senior team members

A 3-4 month ramp-up period is expected to become fully integrated into the environment, with a goal of reaching the expertise level of senior team members.

Pay

$45.00 - $50.00/hour
