Network Engineer
About the role
The Network Engineer will manage the network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN and telecommunications, for Southern Research. Responsibilities include designing, configuring, and supporting high-available solutions that meet business needs. The role requires staying updated on the latest technologies and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, setup, and configure complex networking
- Gather and analyze network requirements for design
- Align systems/network infrastructure with organizational needs
- Document design documents and maintain network software
- Maintain multi-site network operations and software applications
- Support daily operational activities
- Manage assigned projects and program components
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology or related field
- 6+ years of relevant experience as a Network Engineer
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing large-scale WAN/LAN networks
- Extensive knowledge of enterprise network technologies
- Mastery of TCP/IP and IP Security protocols
Qualifications
- Current CCNA and/or CCDA certification
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
- Experience with VMware and Windows systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under stress and manage multiple tasks
- Flexible schedule and willingness to work weekends/holidays/on-call
Skills
- Cisco Call Manager experience
- ITIL knowledge
- Core server technologies including virtualization and SAN storage

Pay
Competitive salary commensurate with experience
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend and holiday work as needed
