Network Engineer OverviewAn organization is seeking a Network Engineer to support enterprise network infrastructure, end-user technology services, and operational technology environments. This role combines network engineering responsibilities with hands-on technical support and requires an individual who enjoys working across infrastructure, systems, connectivity, and user-facing technology challenges. The ideal candidate will possess strong networking expertise, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to support distributed locations while helping maintain secure, reliable, and scalable technology operations. ResponsibilitiesNetwork EngineeringDesign, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructureSupport network availability, performance, redundancy, and security initiativesManage network hardware lifecycle, upgrades, and deploymentsMonitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issuesImplement security controls and assist with cybersecurity best practicesMaintain network documentation, diagrams, and technical standardsInvestigate and resolve complex infrastructure incidentsParticipate in network modernization and continuous improvement effortsTechnical SupportProvide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for end users across multiple locationsTroubleshoot hardware, software, network, and access-related issuesManage incidents and service requests through a ticketing systemEscalate issues appropriately while maintaining ownership through resolutionCommunicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical usersDevelop and maintain user documentation and knowledge-base articlesIdentify opportunities to reduce recurring support issues through process improvement Required Qualifications5+ years of experience supporting enterprise network environmentsStrong understanding of routing, switching, wireless networking, and firewallsExperience administering hybrid infrastructure environmentsExperience supporting Windows-based environments and end-user technologiesAbility to troubleshoot complex network and connectivity issuesStrong documentation and organizational skillsExperience providing direct end-user support in addition to infrastructure responsibilitiesExcellent communication and customer-service skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting geographically dispersed users and locationsExperience with enterprise security technologies and network monitoring toolsKnowledge of cloud and hybrid infrastructure environmentsExperience participating in on-call support rotationsExposure to operational technology or industrial environmentsRelevant networking, infrastructure, or security certifications Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
