Network Engineer

Network Engineer position in Sacramento, CA (onsite). 6-month contract with potential extensions or conversion. Pay rate: $45–$55/hour.

About the role

We are seeking a Network Engineer to support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations. This individual will be responsible for ensuring network reliability, performance, and security while supporting day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco-based network infrastructure
• Support routing, switching, SD-WAN, wireless, and VPN environments
• Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues
• Manage firewalls, network security controls, and access policies
• Administer DNS, DHCP, and related network services
• Support network upgrades, deployments, and infrastructure projects
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to maintain a stable and secure network environment
• Document network configurations, procedures, and changes

Requirements

• 3–4 years of Network Engineering experience
• Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies
• Strong understanding of routing and switching
• Experience supporting SD-WAN, wireless networking, and VPNs
• Experience with firewalls and network security
• Working knowledge of UNIX and Linux
• Experience with DNS and DHCP
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CCNA, CCNP, NSE, PCNSE, or similar networking/security certifications
• AWS or Azure networking experience
• Experience supporting enterprise or multi-site network environments
