Network Engineer
About the role
We are seeking highly-motivated and dedicated Network Engineers to join our team at our company headquarters in San Antonio. Labatt Food Service is a $1.8B company that delivers to food-away-from-home customers throughout Texas and New Mexico. Our mission is to be "Home of the Best": best in people, products, and services. We provide the highest quality products at the most appropriate prices so that our customers can have a line out their door. Our company receives and delivers hundreds of thousands of cases a day, and travels over 8 million miles a year. Internally-written software systems require highly-available wireless and wired connectivity of a 5-9s wide-area network (WAN) and composite LANs. Network Engineers are responsible for building out the network backbone and telecommunications infrastructure needed for Labatt to deliver flawless data service to over 7,000 electronic end-points in our 5 distribution centers and 5 satellite offices.
Responsibilities
- Program routers, switches, load balancers, and access points across an inventory of Cisco, Juniper, Extricom, F5, and VMWare devices
- Flawlessly execute multi-year device replacement plans
- Learn about new wireless technologies and monitoring and administrative protocols
- Avoid to the profession’s ever-evolving best practices
- Manage our Telecommunications providers to achieve continuously improved performance and redundancy
- Organize plans for comprehensive active-active network redundancy
- Architect resiliently employing modern "chaos" techniques
Requirements
Network Engineers must have a bachelors degree at minimum, and generally also have acquired a number of the standard networking certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc).
Qualifications
Architects at Labatt must demonstrate the discipline to put in the work to meet deadlines, the eagerness to learn and improve at the craft, and the strong desire to deliver a truly excellent service to our thousands of internal and external users.
