About the Role

Galloway Company is a recognized leader in the dairy processing industry with a rich multigenerational history and a reputation for creating and delivering products that delight customers. We are seeking a skilled and driven OT Systems Administrator (Systems or Network Engineer) to serve as the primary technical owner of our Operational Technology (OT) environment, including the Foxboro control system platform and supporting infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, availability, and security of plant-floor systems in a 24/7 manufacturing operation. As part of the IT Department, you will work cross-functionally with IT, engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to maintain and enhance OT systems while supporting automation projects and system upgrades with minimal impact to production.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Administration & Support: Administer, monitor, and maintain OT systems including industrial networks and supporting server infrastructure. Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of all plant-floor systems. Proactively assess system health using tools such as System Auditor and other monitoring platforms.
  • Network Architecture & Cybersecurity: Plan, design, and maintain OT network architecture aligned with best practices. Implement and sustain cybersecurity measures including network segmentation, access control strategies, monitoring, and incident prevention. Support a secure and stable Foxboro environment.
  • Infrastructure Management: Manage OT server environments, including backups and disaster recovery strategies, and patch management aligned with production schedules. Ensure minimal downtime and adherence to uptime requirements.
  • Project & Lifecycle Support: Support automation initiatives, plant expansions, and system upgrades. Plan and procure Foxboro hardware for expansions and improvements. Coordinate with Foxboro field support as the primary technical interface.
  • Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation including network diagrams, system configurations and backups, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Drive continuous improvements in system performance, reliability, and security.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary technical liaison between IT, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and external vendors. Build and maintain strong working relationships across all stakeholder groups.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience in OT/industrial environments, preferably in manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems (Foxboro experience preferred), networking and cybersecurity principles in OT environments, and familiarity with server administration, backup solutions, and patch management
  • 5+ years' experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering, preferably in OT/industrial environments
  • 2–3 years in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience designing and maintaining OT networks (segmentation, VLANs, firewalls, DMZ); Foxboro a plus
  • Strong server administration background (VMware/Hyper-V, Windows Server, patching, OT-appropriate backup/recovery)
  • Understanding of Purdue Model / ISA-95 architecture
  • Familiarity with OT cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443) and implementation of controls
  • Knowledge of industrial protocols (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, OPC-UA)
  • Experience in 24/7, safety-critical manufacturing environments with high uptime requirements
  • Strong documentation practices (network diagrams, configs, change logs, backups)
  • Familiarity with monitoring, asset management, or ticketing tools preferred
  • Experience with industrial asset visibility tools a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
