Primary Responsibilities
- Follow established Connectivity Operations Team procedures, utilizing ticketing systems for issue tracking and maintaining detailed documentation for all network activities.
- Provide hands-on support for network upgrade projects and initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation with minimal disruption to operations.
- Install, maintain, operate, and secure LAN infrastructure and network devices to support organizational requirements.
- Respond to hardware failures by replacing and configuring networking components such as switches, routers, and access points.
- Troubleshoot and resolve end-user connectivity issues, delivering responsive and professional customer support.
- Manage access to network segments and resources in accordance with established security policies and access control procedures.
- Perform network hardware, operating system, and software updates to maintain optimal performance, functionality, and security.
- Adhere to established change management and configuration management processes to maintain network integrity and compliance.
Required
- Two (2) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required.
- An active security clearance with polygraph.
- An associate's degree in engineering technology from an accredited college is required.
- Two (2) additional years of network engineering experience may be substituted for the Associate’s degree.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; periodic work in tight areas.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Must possess certifications to demonstrate CWIP compliance (A+, Net+, or Sec+).
Desired
- Experience with installation and configuration of network devices, such as firewalls, switches, routers, and cabling.
- Familiarity with Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper devices is a plus.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
- Experience with network operating systems, hardware troubleshooting, and ticketing systems.
