Responsibilities
- Assist in configuring, deploying, and maintaining network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance and availability; respond to alerts and outages under guidance from senior staff.
- Provide first-level support for network-related incidents and service requests.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to support ongoing infrastructure projects.
- Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance to ensure network reliability.
- Support inventory management of networking hardware and cabling.
- Stay informed on basic networking trends and best practices.
- Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/teammates and leaders across the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, subnets, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and routing protocols.
- Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and follow instructions from senior engineers.
- Internship or hands-on experience in a network support role is a plus.
- Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent (or actively pursuing) are preferred.
- Exposure to network monitoring tools and ticketing systems is preferred.
- Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Employer sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. General hours and days of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some nights and weekends may be required.
Location
This is a fully on-site role. Remote, hybrid, and flexible work arrangements are not available. Relocation assistance is not provided. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the work location.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required as needed.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment, including laptop computers and smartphones.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 50 pounds.
