Network Engineer
About the role
A well-designed and secure network is critical to moving data and enabling DoD to achieve its mission. This opportunity requires a network engineer who can craft the exact network needed by the DoD.
Responsibilities
- Work with the DoD to develop a reliable network to support critical missions.
- Collaborate with SMEs, customers, and users to understand strategic goals and operational needs.
- Share expertise during the planning of the acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network components.
- Resolve interoperability issues across platforms and support the acquisition of hardware.
- Utilize hardware and software talents to support backbone networks, cloud technologies, and core networking.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with designing, deploying, and advanced support of multi-protocol IP backbone and access networks.
- 3+ years of experience in deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting multivendor network equipment and solutions, including VMWare, Cisco, Palo Alto, Dell, HPE, or Juniper.
- Knowledge of security, routing, and switching protocols, including BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, VPLS, STP, or L3VPNs.
- Secret clearance.
- HS diploma or GED.
- Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification within 6 months of hire.
Qualifications
- Experience with classified networks.
- Experience with STIGing or security hardening of systems.
- Experience with NESSUS, ACAS, or security analysis tools.
- Experience with operating, deploying, or administering Linux or Unix systems and VMWare.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, VMWare, Linux, JNCIA, or JNCP.
- Certification in Security+.
Skills

- Experience with network equipment and solutions, including VMWare, Cisco, Palo Alto, Dell, HPE, or Juniper.
- Knowledge of security, routing, and switching protocols.

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD).
Schedule
Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.

Work Model

- Onsite: If this position is listed as onsite, work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, where employees will collaborate directly with colleagues and customers as required by the role.
