About the role
This is an onsite 6-month contract position located in Greensboro, NC, with strong potential for extension. The schedule is first-shift Monday–Friday.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure supporting both LAN and WAN environments.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco networking equipment, including routers, switches, and wireless solutions.
- Administer and support next-generation firewall solutions, with a focus on Palo Alto platforms and security policies.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Support network segmentation, routing, switching, and firewall rule design to meet performance and security requirements.
- Perform network upgrades, patches, and configuration changes in accordance with change-management processes.
- Collaborate with security, systems, and application teams to support infrastructure initiatives and integrations.
- Troubleshoot complex network and connectivity issues across multiple environments.
- Contribute to network documentation, standards, and best-practice development.
- Participate in architecture discussions and provide input on future network and security enhancements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise network environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies (routing, switching, VLANs, WAN, VPN).
- Proven experience configuring and supporting Palo Alto firewalls, including policy management and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of network security principles and traffic-flow analysis.
- Experience working with firewalls, VPNs, and secure network segmentation.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
