Network Engineer 2 (Travel Required) - Cisco/Jira/LatteArt/STE/STN/SSP/Cisco

About the Role

Captivation Software is seeking a mid-level network engineer to assist with daily responsibilities on a mixed team of 2 civilian leads and 7 contractors. This team supports two unique operational customers' networking needs, working with gear located in NBP320 and at remote, largely 2nd and 3rd-party locations. You will configure systems in our contractor building and provide in-person or remote support for field deployments. Ongoing responsibilities include network support, firewall management, and crypto gear maintenance.

Your primary work location will be in Columbia at our contractor building, with frequent travel to NBP 320. A typical day involves reviewing team chat and emails, addressing JIRA tickets, working in the lab on new systems and upgrade configurations, and handling SSP compliance tasks.

Requirements

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph (U.S. citizenship required)
• Six (6) years of experience providing network engineering support
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline
• IAT level I baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M

Responsibilities

• Configure and sustain network systems, including Cisco and Arista equipment
• Support field deployments of new gear both in-person and remotely
• Provide ongoing network support, including firewall and crypto gear management
• Work on SSP compliance tasks and support Latte 'Art, STE/STN devices
• Occasional travel to OCONUS locations and on-call support for operational systems

Skills

Required

• Network engineering experience
• Cisco and Arista configuration and sustainment
• Familiarity with Latte 'Art, STE/STN, and SSP compliance

Desired

• Call Manager experience
• Cisco ASA Firewall experience
• Experience automating repetitive tasks (e.g., inventory collection, compliance requirements)
• Experience with cloud, hyperconverged infrastructure, or containerized environments

• Annual Salary: $130,000 - $270,000 (based on years of experience)
