Network Development Engineer, GCNA Deployment, AWS Internet Edge

About the role

AWS is looking for Network Engineers to deploy and automate one of the world’s largest and complex networks supporting Amazon Retail, Kindle, Payments, and multiple AWS services. The role involves deploying, scaling, and automating network infrastructure across multiple global datacenters, creating simple, repetitive deployment processes, and collaborating with internal customers.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, scale, and automate network infrastructure across all network fabrics supporting Amazon Retail, Kindle, Payments, and multiple AWS services.
• Drive scaling of current network designs to meet customer demand.
• Create simple, repetitive deployment processes that increase both velocity and quality.
• Work closely with internal customers on designs/solutions, bringing them from concept to production.
• Create and update network standards and ensure network compliance.
• Create and implement changes on the network.
• Work closely with automation teams to define tools for scaling at unprecedented volume.

Requirements

• Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols.
• Experience in major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF.
• Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.

Skills

• Knowledge of IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, COBIT) and operational excellence concepts or methodologies.
• Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures.
• Experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming.
• Experience working with customers to diagnose problems and work towards resolution.
