About the role
AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
Responsibilities
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
- Provide first level networking devices to serve customer racks with a focus on efficiency
- Track network rack intake and delivery; work with various onsite teams for space, power, and cooling
- Partner with network engineers to ensure all configurations are ready
- Work with ID-Scaling peers to build higher-level networking devices
- Manage work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Manage power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking completed for new equipment
- Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
- Travel within and outside of regional work area as required
Requirements
- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in computer networking
- Experience working with Linux operating systems
- Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
- Industry standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+) or experience working in a colocation data center facility
- Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common Networking Protocols (BGP, OSPF)
Qualifications
- Can work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction
- Establish and follow best practices and refine operational procedures
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
- Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed
- Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments
- Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $30.00 - $54.00 per hour.
