About the role

AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.

Responsibilities

  • Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
  • Provide first level networking devices to serve customer racks with a focus on efficiency
  • Track network rack intake and delivery; work with various onsite teams for space, power, and cooling
  • Partner with network engineers to ensure all configurations are ready
  • Work with ID-Scaling peers to build higher-level networking devices
  • Manage work and priorities through a ticketing system
  • Manage power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking completed for new equipment
  • Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
  • Travel within and outside of regional work area as required

Requirements

  • 1+ years of computer networking experience
  • 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience in computer networking
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems
  • Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
  • Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
  • Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
  • Industry standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+) or experience working in a colocation data center facility
  • Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common Networking Protocols (BGP, OSPF)

  • Can work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction
  • Establish and follow best practices and refine operational procedures
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
  • Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed
  • Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments
  • Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $30.00 - $54.00 per hour.

Schedule

Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
