Network Deployment Lead, DCC Communities

About the role

The Network Deployment Lead will oversee medium to large-scale Data Center cabling deployments including migrations, new sites, and new regions. They will work with a diverse team of professionals to ensure high standards for safety and security while delivering scalable solutions at the lowest possible cost.

Responsibilities

• Initial cabling planning, installation, validation, and quality assessment.
• Engage external contractors, including newly onboarded cabling vendors.
• Plan and coordinate with various stakeholders to determine device and cabling requirements, schedule resources, engage external vendors, and report on project status.
• Install, rack, stack, run, and patch fiber cabling, and configure devices using automation tools and the command line interface.
• Validate, troubleshoot, and stress test devices prior to capacity delivery.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% including some local and international assignments throughout AMER.

Requirements

• 1+ years of computer networking experience
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience in computer networking
• Experience working with Linux operating systems
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
• Knowledge of network design, protocols, and troubleshooting

Qualifications

• Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
• Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
