We support new AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Amazon is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network. You will leverage your experience supporting large scale, enterprise class networks as well as network implementation and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
• Collaboration with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
• Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low level application interaction
• Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
• Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment
• Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
• Up to 20% travel within geographical work area is required. Some travel outside traditional work area may be requested, including internationally
• Traveling within and outside of regional work area is required. You will be responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license to travel within the regional work area, as company transportation will not be provided

Physical requirements

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
• Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed
• Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments
• Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation

Basic qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma
• 1+ years of Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, Data Center Operations, or Technical Project Management experience

Preferred qualifications

• Data center experience
• Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+)
• Experience with common tools related to network troubleshooting, including VFLs, OTDR and power meters
• Understanding of infrastructure technologies, including Routers, Switches, Load Balancers and Firewalls
• Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common Networking Protocols (BGP, OSPF)

Pay & benefits

Base salary range: $30.00 - $54.00 USD hourly. Your package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
