Position Overview

DLS Engineering is seeking a Network Architect III (Network Solutions Architect) professional for a full-time position in support of the Air Force Intranet Control (AFINC) program at Gunter Annex in Montgomery, Alabama. This is an on-site position.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and simulates network traffic to aide in problem resolution or to test updated configurations in virtual or physical lab environments.
• Optimizes, oversees, and supports Enterprise communications networks including overlaying security technologies.
• Maintains network infrastructure, to include routers, switches, proxies, firewalls, servers, workstations, printers, Storage Area Networks (SAN) and test labs, to provide maneuverability and defense of both classified and unclassified networks.
• Monitors and tests network performance and provides network performance statistics, reports, and recommended fix actions.
• Responsible for network and security controls design review implementation and troubleshooting of IT security systems including hardware, software, and appliances.
• Evaluates Cloud offerings and provides recommendations to leadership for improved mission effectiveness, cost effectiveness, and operational efficiencies.
• Maintains system utilization and circuit bandwidth, then reports anomalies to Government team leads.
• Develops, executes, modifies or removes scripts to assist in automation of tasks, as possible.
• Reviews and documents all workload activities per incident or change request to eliminate re-work or for auditing/investigation purposes.

Requirements

• 7+ years experience with: designing, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, upgrading, patching, and hardening routers/switches, serial consoles, load balancers, and switches.
• Deep level of understanding/experience with enterprise level network architectures/configurations is required and Software Defined Networking (SDN) is desired.
• IAT-II certification (required)
• CCNP certification (required)
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance (required)

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with cloud computing platforms and services.
• Knowledge of network security protocols and best practices.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and techniques.
• Experience with DevOps methodologies and tools.

Skills

Skills required for this role include:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

The Pay Range For This Role Is $115,000 - $120,000 USD per year (Montgomery, AL).
