Network Architect
Job#: 3046837 – 6-month contract-to-hire, primarily remote with occasional onsite visits for special circumstances in Tampa, FL.
About the Role
The Network Architect provides daily support in the execution of new design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of Moffitt’s systems and related infrastructure technology leveraged by Research, Business, and Clinical communities. This role focuses on all aspects of design, implementation, and management of the Center’s Storage/Backup, Virtualization, Server/OS, End-User Computing, and LAN/WAN architectures. Responsibilities include ensuring optimal performance across Moffitt’s production infrastructure, establishing technical standards and operational procedures, and performing root-cause analysis after critical incidents.
The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of database infrastructure in new locations, evaluate and audit existing clinic architectures, and design new clinics. This position involves breaking ground on a new hospital in Lakeland and requires a leadership role with the ability to execute without guidance, standardize processes, and supervise other engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, implement, and maintain Moffitt’s systems and infrastructure technology.
- Focus on Storage/Backup, Virtualization, Server/OS, End-User Computing, and LAN/WAN architectures.
- Ensure optimal performance of production infrastructure.
- Develop technical standards and operational procedures.
- Perform root-cause analysis after critical incidents.
- Design and implement database infrastructure in new locations.
- Evaluate and audit existing clinic architectures; design new clinics.
- Lead and supervise other engineers, ensuring standardized processes.
- Support the development of a new hospital in Lakeland.
Requirements
- CCIE certification (required).
- Architect-level experience in networking.
- Proven ability to design and implement complex network and infrastructure solutions without guidance.
- Leadership experience, including supervising and mentoring engineers.
