Responsibilities
- Maintains ongoing support and management of elements of the technical infrastructure.
- Monitors performance, implements changes, performs backups, maintains documentation, and applies new patches and versions when required.
- Investigates and troubleshoots issues with diverse scope.
- Works independently to provide ongoing support and management of elements of the technical infrastructure.
- Monitors infrastructure performance, troubleshoots more complex issues and deploys solutions.
- Implements basic infrastructure monitors and alerts.
- Reacts to infrastructure alarms triggered by monitoring tools.
- Performs routine infrastructure updates and maintenance tasks.
- Performs routine provisioning of infrastructure and devices.
- Provides second level troubleshooting support and assistance to NOC and Support Services.
- Interacts with end-users in order to troubleshoot infrastructure related issues.
- Raises tickets with 3rd party vendors.
- Contributes to root cause analysis.
- Creates and maintains a disaster recovery, security and backup and restore plan.
- Evaluates new technologies to optimize network efficiency and performance.
- Tracks the parts inventory and maintains knowledge base documentation.
- Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.
- Participates in off-hours on-call rotation.
Requirements
- A bachelor degree is preferred, or relevant experience.
- Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: meeting with customers, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
