SAIC is looking for a Network Administrator with experience in US Navy IT networks to support the sustained operation and maintenance of a newly deployed naval enterprise transport network, ensuring 24/7/365 availability and reliability. The position will support end-to-end network, system, and element visibility; facilitate rapid operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning to maintain the operational integrity of a mission-critical network, requiring both technical expertise and a commitment to excellence in service delivery. This position is onsite in Suffolk, VA.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 level engineering operations support to quickly identify, triage, and address outages, analyzing symptoms and potential root causes to implement effective resolutions or escalate to Tier 3 support as required
- Utilize advanced monitoring tools and processes to oversee network infrastructure, monitor the performance and availability of managed services and systems across multiple exchange points, and ensure optimal performance
- Perform day-to-day maintenance, fixes, configuration corrections, software and hardware updates, and deployments
- Adhere to system and operational reporting obligations
- Operate and maintain the privileged access solutions
- Maintain continuous verification of failover processes and disaster recovery procedures
- Operate and maintain hardware upgrade process and procedures
- Update and maintain any software builds applicable to deployed equipment
- Enact change management for the solution
- Operate and maintain existing incident management processes
- Keep firmware, software updates and patches up to date for equipment
- Support the design, analysis, planning, modification and maintenance of the network and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities
- Support analysis of short/long-term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling
- Conduct testing of network systems
- Support the evaluation of new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and two (2) years relevant experience supporting a large network infrastructure (additional experience can be considered in lieu of degree)
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Experience with Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP); Access Control Lists; Layer 2 Switching; Spanning Tree; Packet Analysis; SPINE-LEAF architecture
- Working knowledge of SD-WAN, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Virtual Private Network devices
- Understanding of TCP/IP in regard to routing and subnetting
- Capable of supporting TACACS+ on Cisco ISE and ISE Cube
- IAT Level II certification required (Sec+), CCNA/CCNP (six-month waiver authorized to obtain)
Skills
- Experience with Arista switches; Palo Alto Firewalls; TAP and network visibility (i.e. Gigamon, NetScout); SD-WAN and Spine-Leaf Architecture; working with VLANs and VRFs; configuring IPSEC tunnels; and troubleshooting routing issues (desired)
- Experience with SVLAN (Service VLAN) configuration and management (desired)
- Experience with Arista CloudVision Portal (desired)
Schedule
- Full-Time, rotating shifts to cover a 24x7 operational environment
- Onsite in Suffolk, VA with up to 10% travel
Pay
Target salary range $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
