Network Administrator

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains LAN/WAN, including wireless, network connectivity at all CNM campuses.
• Troubleshooting problems.
• Coinciding efforts of managed services, communications vendors.
• Working closely with CNM staff who use network services.
• Aids in developing and maintaining network documentation.
• Utilizes applicable software applications to develop and modify construction documents and drawings, and to generate detailed plans.
• Participates in projects to perform LAN/WAN implementations, upgrades and conversion projects.
• Works on related projects which includes planning, design, testing and implementation, and often includes coordination of all CNM staff involved in the project, oversight of contractors and involvement in procurement activities.
• Participates in training opportunities for network administrators to maintain qualifications to work with current technologies in use at CNM.
• Maintains network performance and security, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
• Configures and maintains network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Implements and enforces network security measures, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
• Provides technical support and guidance to users on network-related matters, troubleshooting issues as needed.
• Collaborates with other IT teams and stakeholders to plan and execute network projects and initiatives.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of related experience OR Associate’s Degree and five (5) years of related experience.
• Degrees in Computer Science or a related field are preferred.
