Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking an experienced NetSuite Architect who can operate within a governance-through-delivery model. This role involves rearchitecting legacy customizations, simplifying the platform footprint, retiring or replacing modules at end-of-life, and establishing sustainable architectural standards. The architect must be comfortable making architecture decisions in flight, producing artifacts of working software, and resisting the pull toward design-on-paper. The role also requires governing the work of an implementation partner during modernization, while contributing directly to delivery alongside the NS developer and admin.
What You’ll Do
- Own the target-state architecture for NetSuite and the surrounding lead-to-cash ecosystem (HubSpot, SalesLoft, OpenAir/SuiteProjects Pro, Celigo, ZoomInfo/ZeroBounce, and the planned analytics layer).
- Lead the re-architecture of legacy customizations and end-of-life modules — assess technical debt, define what to retire, refactor, or replace with native functionality, and sequence the work into a defensible roadmap. Specifically includes the Contract Renewals → SuiteBilling migration, ARM adoption, OpenAir disposition, and customer record rationalization.
- Govern the implementation partner's technical work — review designs, enforce standards, validate quality, hold approval rights on significant design decisions, and ensure architectural alignment with long-term direction. The architect has the standing to say no to a partner recommendation.
- Contribute as a hands-on developer/architect on highest-leverage work; pair with the NS developer to raise the team's design ceiling.
- Establish and enforce development standards: naming conventions, sandbox strategy, code review, deployment, release management, and documentation.
- Design integration patterns between NetSuite and surrounding systems (HubSpot ↔ NS via Celigo, SL ↔ HS native, SL → NS engagement events, ZI/ZB enrichment flows); make build-vs-buy and middleware-vs-native decisions.
- Partner with Sales, Services, Support, BD, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to translate process requirements into scalable platform design; push back on customization where configuration or process change is the better answer.
- Provide technical support escalation backstop — when production issues exceed the admin/developer's scope, this role is part of the response.
- Stay current on NetSuite platform releases (2x/year) and emerging SuiteCloud capabilities; assess applicability and risk.
- Apply AI tooling as a fluent adopter — use AI in design, code review, documentation, and delivery, and where appropriate, design AI capabilities into the platform itself.
- Mentor the NS developer and admin on architectural thinking, platform best practices, and modernization patterns.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8+ years of relevant ERP/platform experience, with 5+ years architecting NetSuite specifically.
- Demonstrated experience leading a NetSuite modernization, rearchitecture, or major re-implementation — not solely greenfield builds or BAU admin.
- Deep, hands-on expertise in SuiteScript 2.x, SuiteFlow, SuiteTalk (REST/SOAP), SuiteAnalytics, SuiteBundler, and SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF).
- Strong grasp of the NetSuite data model and the finance, operations, and front-office modules relevant to RF-SMART's footprint, including Contract Renewals, SuiteBilling, ARM, and SuiteProjects Pro.
- Proven experience designing and operating integrations between NetSuite and CRM/marketing/sales-engagement systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, SalesLoft, Marketo, or similar) via Celigo, Boomi, Workato, MuleSoft, or comparable iPaaS.
- Track record of setting development standards and governance in a multi-developer / partner-augmented NetSuite environment.
- Ability to translate between finance/operations stakeholders, front-office stakeholders (Sales, BD, Marketing, CS, Services, Support), and technical teams; comfortable influencing senior business leaders on platform decisions.
- Comfortable as a working architect — willing to write and review code, pair with developers, and contribute to delivery, not just design.
- Fluent AI adopter — uses AI tooling in day-to-day architecture, design, and delivery work, and ideally has led the integration of AI capabilities into a platform or system they have owned.
