.NET Senior Software Engineer - National General

About the role

National General is a part of The Allstate Corporation, offering home, auto, and accident and health insurance through a network of independent agents and direct-to-consumer channels. This position is open within the Software Engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Provides input into the architecture and design of the product, collaborating with the team to solve problems effectively.
• Practices daily paired programming and test-driven development, ensuring agile and high-quality software products.
• Participates in executing the strategy, focusing on customer needs and wants.
• Serves as an expert in a specific business domain and demonstrates leadership and accountability on at least one technology stack.
• Coaches more junior team members around different technologies and XP practices.
• Establishes continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices.
• Serves as a point of escalation for software products in user environments.
• Leads and participates in daily standups, cross-site, and product team standups, retrospectives, and iteration planning meetings.

Requirements

• Great communicator
• Expert in multiple programming languages with depth of knowledge within specific tech stacks (application languages, algorithms, database normalization, data structures, common tools)
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Stacks (Azure Devops, Azure Messaging System, Azure Cloud Storage, AWS Integration, MS Dot Net Core (C#), JavaScript, MS SQL Server, Cosmos DB, MongoDB)
• Experience 3 or more years of experience (Preferred)
• In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Pay

Base compensation offered for this role is $90,700.00 - $140,000.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e., commission, bonus, etc.) as applicable for the role.
