About the role
The global Information Technology (IT) Function at Corning is focused on aligning IT strategy with business goals, optimizing processes, and delivering technology solutions. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing manufacturing efficiencies and product quality through IT-enabled processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead small to medium size projects
- Maintain existing client server and web based applications
- Recommend and develop information system projects that improve manufacturing efficiencies and product quality
- Assume leadership for own portion of large projects
- Use standard methodologies to carry out projects and tasks
- Develop application interfaces tailored to user needs and integrated with new and existing systems
- Provide analysis, design, and coding support for business enhancements to the system
- Monitor service levels and actively seek ways to improve service efficiency and effectiveness
- Test, debug, and document programs to ensure desired customer requirements are met
- Interact with users in defining and analyzing problems
Requirements
- 4 Year Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering
- Applicable work experience including internships
- Experience with application platforms such as VB.NET or ASP.NET, C#.NET
- Troubleshooting and debugging skills for complex applications
- Knowledge of Windows environments and IIS
- Ability to complete small to medium scale projects in a team environment
- Application design, development, and delivery experience
- Participation in an after-hours on-call rotation (approximately every 5 weeks)
Qualifications
- Database skills preferably in Microsoft SQL
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with the multi-user MES interfaces (e.g., GE Proficy, Camstar)
- Microsoft SSRS reporting experience
- Experience using Team Foundation Server
- Experience developing and debugging SQL Server stored procedures
- Expert knowledge of business process mapping and documentation of business requirements, system design, and technical standards
- Communications skills – ability to interact with peers, customers, and management
- Good Teamwork, written and oral communication and customer service skills
- Detail oriented and organized

- Strong programming skills in .NET

Benefits
This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $65,338.00 - $89,840.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
