About the role
AES Clean Energy is seeking a NERC Operations Senior Analyst to support the company’s NERC Operations & Planning (O&P) compliance program. This role focuses on ensuring all operations and maintenance activities meet North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) reliability standards.
Responsibilities
- O&P Implementation: Support implementation of O&M compliance processes and field activities for key applicable NERC O&P standards. Maintain relationships with field operations personnel to ensure consistent compliance.
- Evidence Gathering & Audit Support: Collect, organize, and provide compliance evidence to NERC Compliance team. Assist in audit preparation and submission of supporting data.
- Regulatory Updates & Analysis: Work with NERC Compliance team to provide input on changing NERC Reliability Standards and collaborate with different business units to ensure compliance.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate NERC compliance into all stages of the asset life cycle. Facilitate regular meetings to review compliance status and share best practices.
- Issue Management & Continuous Improvement: Investigate reliability risks, analyze incidents, and identify opportunities for improving compliance processes or tools.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Mid-level professional with 3–7+ years of experience in Inverter Based Resource operations, maintenance, or renewable energy projects.
- Knowledge: Experience in designing and implementing controls related to NERC standards.
- Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities, excellent organizational and time-management skills, proficiency in office productivity tools, and effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: NERC System Operator Certification or equivalent.
- Additional Skills: Experience with compliance audits, familiarity with GRC tools, and understanding of continuous improvement methodologies.
